Overview
The Director of the Office of Information Technology and Communication Systems (SGIS) is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of integrated ICT systems, infrastructure, and services, including information security. The role provides guidance on technical solutions and oversees projects contributing to Safeguards’ strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SGIS, including staff, work programme, resources, and assets.
- Oversee and evaluate the work of the Office for efficient and effective delivery of results.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the design, development, maintenance, and operations of safeguards ITC systems.
- Establish implementation policies and procedures within the Office.
- Contribute to the formulation of safeguards policies, strategic planning, and developing innovative approaches.
- Lead and manage staff and financial resources assigned to the Office.
- Foster the preservation and growth of knowledge within the Office and the Department.
- Promote compliance with the Departmental quality management system.
Required Experience
- At least 15 years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience.
- At least 10 years in management of ICT or business/industry with strong IT contribution teams, with focus on security, compliance, adaptability, risk and quality management.
- At least 5 years of experience at the senior level in an international organization or multinational company, with demonstrated capability in multicultural human leadership and financial resource management.
- Experience in the complex analysis of information related to international, public security and corresponding ICT solutions.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Information Security, or other related technical field.
- A first level university degree in the aforementioned fields with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university Degree.
