Overview
Assist in the coordination and monitoring of disability inclusion (DI) activities and provide support to programme and support units on DI-related aspects of project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and monitoring of disability inclusion (DI) activities.
- Provide support to programme and support units on DI-related aspects of project activities and workplans.
- Keep the supervisor informed on the status of DI-related activities, identifying challenges and suggesting improvements.
- Participate in the development and adjustment of workplans and tools to support accessibility and inclusion.
- Organize and deliver capacity-building activities on disability inclusion for staff and partners.
- Assist in liaising with stakeholders, including Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), and support consultation processes.
- Contribute to the review of relevant tools and materials and support the identification of DI-related needs.
- Collect, compile, and analyze data and participate in disability-inclusive monitoring and reporting.
- Liaise and coordinate with partners, government counterparts, UN agencies and participate in relevant meetings and working groups.
- Contribute to project proposals, reports and communication materials and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Undertake frequent duty travel to IOM field locations as required.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Two years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree; or Master's degree.
- Experience and expertise in the field of disability inclusion.
- Experience and updated knowledge in the field of research and needs assessment.
- Experience in mediation and facilitation of groups, as well as leadership or facilitation of consultative processes, including the facilitation of consultations online, using accessible technology.
- Experience working on Protection programming and/or with vulnerable individuals or communities in an emergency or post-conflict environment.
- Excellent track record of effective working relationships with UN, government, and non-government partners and communities.
- Experience in project management, results-based management, and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) an asset.
- Working experience in conflict and post-conflict areas an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
- Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields.
