Overview

The Payments and Platform Operations Assistant will ensure that stipend payments to interns are processed accurately, promptly, and transparently, and that the NextGen platform operates fairly and responsively for candidates and host companies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process monthly stipend payment runs for interns.
  • Verify and maintain accurate bank and mobile money details for interns.
  • Reconcile payment records against attendance, placement, and completion data.
  • Maintain a complete and well-ordered audit trail of payments, approvals, and supporting documentation.
  • Review automatically generated shortlists to apply human judgment.
  • Verify uploaded academic certificates, national identification, and recommendation letters.
  • Provide responsive on-site and telephone support to applicants and host companies.
  • Track shortlists against gender, disability, and regional representation targets.
  • Document recurring payment and platform issues and channel them to the Administrative Associate and the development team.
Required Experience
  • Practical experience in payments processing, bookkeeping, customer service, operations, or administrative support.
  • Experience handling beneficiary or payroll data, or verifying official documentation, is an advantage.
  • Practical experience using spreadsheets, mobile money and banking payment platforms, and database or back-office administration tools.

Remuneration
A UN Volunteer receives a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) per month and is paid at the end of each month to cover housing, utilities, transportation, communications and other basic needs. UNV provides life, health, permanent disability insurances as well as assignment travel, annual leave, full integration in the UN security framework (including residential security reimbursements). UN Volunteers are paid Daily Subsistence Allowance at the UN rate for official travels, flight tickets for the final repatriation travel (if applicable). A resettlement allowance is paid for satisfactory service at the end of the assignment.
