Overview
Support MED POL in implementing desalination guidelines in Libya by guiding national authorities towards sustainable and innovative practices with a lower carbon footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a detailed work plan and timetable.
- Propose selection of at least two and up to five desalination plants in Libya for assessment and obtain national authority agreement.
- Prepare and submit a detailed annotated outline of the Assessment Report.
- Prepare a minimum two-page technical description for each selected desalination plant.
- Conduct an analysis of national legislation governing desalination in Libya.
- Assess pollution loads for selected desalination plants, including brine and chemical discharges, and conduct gap analyses.
- Prepare the first draft of the Assessment Report.
- Prepare case studies and presentation materials for a regional meeting.
- Revise the Assessment Report based on feedback.
- Finalize and submit the Assessment Report.
- Prepare a final progress report including deliverables.
Required Experience
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in water treatment sector, drinking water management, and international policies, or regulatory frameworks, or sustainable desalination policies are required.
Qualifications
• First level degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, environmental sciences, mechanical engineering, or other related discipline is required.
