Overview
Develop 15 high-quality online enforcement training modules to strengthen the capacity of CITES Parties and their enforcement authorities to combat wildlife crime.
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidate and streamline 14 existing draft online enforcement training modules and initiate final consultations.
- Develop, review and finalize one new training module on “Detecting and identifying fraudulent permits”.
- Consolidate feedback and revise and update all training modules.
- Submit final draft versions for review.
- Finalize all 15 online courses.
- Submit all 15 final online enforcement training modules.
Required Experience
- At least ten years of relevant work experience in law enforcement, law enforcement training, with a strong background in crime prevention and control or related area.
- Specific experience related to wildlife crime is required.
- Specialized knowledge in e-learning development and instructional design is required.
- Experience in having worked on wildlife crime and on Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) or ICCWC partner agencies or related area is required.
- Familiarity with CITES regulations, enforcement mechanisms, and the challenges faced by CITES Parties is required.
- Prior experience with the UN system or similar international organizations is desirable.
- Experience in preparing presentations, briefing notes and official documents is desirable.
- Solid computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and Word, email and internet tools, as well as familiarity with database management and technology equipment, is desirable.
Qualifications
• An Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) or equivalent in law enforcement, policing, criminal justice, homeland security or related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
