Overview
The Travel Assistant is responsible for reviewing and processing requests for UN travel documents and visa requirements, and advising staff members on relevant travel documentation and visa procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviews and processes authorized requests for UN travel documents and visa requirements.
- Reviews supporting documentation for UN travel documents and visas.
- Advises substantive offices, staff members and relevant travelers on relevant travel documentation and visa requirements.
- Provides guidance on policy and procedure for official travel to staff members.
- Reviews Host Country reports and reconciles variances.
- Maintains database for visa requirements.
- Provides guidance to contracted messengers for delivery/pick-up of visa requirements.
- Compiles statistical reports on activities of the Team.
- Performs ad-hoc duties as required.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in administrative services in executing policies and procedures related to official travel and visa services is required.
- Experience using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), web-based applications is required.
- One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Additional training in the field of Administration is desirable.
