Overview
Provides general office and administrative support to the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and assists in the overall administration of the Office of the SRSG.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in the overall administration of the Office of the SRSG, managing priorities and work flow.
- Compiles and analyzes basic data, summarizing and presenting conclusions.
- Serves as a communications link between SRSG and senior staff.
- Takes full responsibility for time management and scheduling on behalf of the SRSG.
- Serves as first point of contact and liaison with senior officials.
- Screens and prioritizes incoming correspondence.
- Researches, compiles and summarizes background materials.
- Independently handles a wide range of complex information requests and inquiries.
- Supports the SRSG in presentations to intergovernmental bodies and other meetings.
- Establishes/improves administrative procedures and systems.
- Oversees work of office support staff.
- Organizes official receptions, meetings, etc.
- Prepares, processes and classifies confidential information.
- Handles a wide range of administrative duties/processes.
- Exercises quality control function for all outgoing documents.
Required Experience
Over 6 years of experience in general office support or related area is required. Experience performing staff assistant duties, including provision of administrative and office management assistance in a high-level front office setting is required. Experience liaising with high-level personnel, headquarters and overseas offices of the United Nations common system or a similar international organization is required. 1 year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
