Overview

Manages and leads a team responsible for coordinating the Development and Implementation Support (D&IS) Programme for Nuclear Verification, optimizing Member State Support Programme (MSSP) resources and managing the interface between MSSPs and the Department of Safeguards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead the work of the Support Programme Coordination Team.
  • Plan and arrange annual MSSP review meetings and a biennial event.
  • Coordinate and provide guidance on the content and direction of the D&IS programme.
  • Oversee the preparation of a programme plan and report on programme achievements.
  • Review new tasks proposed by the Department for MSSPs.
  • Manage the departmental process for the recruitment of Cost-Free Experts (CFEs) and Junior Professional Officers (JPOs).
  • Monitor progress of D&IS tasks and assist in the resolution of issues.
  • Act as the focal point for internal coordination of MSSP-related issues.
  • Plan and manage the programmatic direction and development of the team.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in technical programme and project management, as well as experience in event planning.
  • Proven experience in the management, development, and mentoring of staff.
  • Experience in resource mobilization at a national or international level.
  • Experience in communicating programme priorities and implementation requirements to external and internal audiences.
  • Experience in the analysis of legal and administrative issues an asset.
  • Experience in nuclear non-proliferation and/or international nuclear safeguards an asset.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business administration, international relations, nuclear science or engineering, public administration, or other related field is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, international relations, nuclear science or engineering, public administration, or other related field, plus two years of additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree is required.

Remuneration
Tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $84672 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 31498*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; Other benefits include 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.
