Overview
Provide part-time medical assistance for migrants, coordinate referrals, and contribute to strengthening health service quality and monitoring mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide part-time medical assistance for migrant beneficiaries.
- Coordinate medical referrals and follow up on treatment progress.
- Provide support for medical services in governmental health facilities.
- Identify and advocate for special health needs.
- Contribute to strengthening and monitoring mechanisms for quality health services.
- Undertake health needs assessments of the migrant population.
- Highlight and ensure presentation of psychosocial needs.
- Monitor completion of pre-departure medical checks.
- Conduct health promotion activities for migrants and host communities.
- Liaise with Community leaders and outreach worker networks.
- Coordinate storage, maintenance, and procurement of medical equipment and supplies.
- Review services from a gender perspective.
- Assist Medical team in conducting medical convoys and basic medical services.
- Write, consolidate, and submit individual case reports, monthly progress reports, and statistical reports.
- Represent IOM in health sector meetings.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience
- Minimum three years of continuous clinical work experience.
- Proven experience in community outreach and dialogue.
- Practical monitoring and evaluation experience.
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Internet, PowerPoint and Email.
- Experience working in Emergency situations, with emergency cases.
- In-depth knowledge of the humanitarian context of medical assistance in relevance to different migrants’ populations.
Qualifications
• University Degree in Medicine from an accredited institution.
