Overview
This internship supports the 3D Print as a Service (3DPaaS) project, an initiative to simplify spare parts procurement in field missions using additive printing methods. The intern will assist in designing, preparing, and scanning 3D models, contributing to prototyping, website maintenance, project planning, workflow improvement, and plastic waste recycling initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing 3D models using CAD/CAM software.
- Assist in preparing models for printing using slicing software.
- Support the 3D scanning process.
- Contribute to prototyping projects.
- Maintain the 3D Printing-as-a-Service Website.
- Assist in planning 3D Technology Projects.
- Help evaluate and improve 3D printing workflows.
- Support Plastic Waste Recycling Initiatives.
- Engage in preparing subject-related workshops and events.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- OR be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Be computer literate in standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar.
- Be proficient in standard office automation (equipment, scanner, printer, etc.).
