Overview

Support the planning and implementation of activities with parliamentarian stakeholders in Germany, assist in fundraising efforts, promote IOM’s mandate, and help safeguard migrant rights.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the roll-out and implementation of the Bundestag Engagement Strategy.
  • Assist in developing resource mobilizing strategies and mechanisms.
  • Assist in fundraising activities.
  • Conduct mapping of prospects of parliamentarian engagement.
  • Assist in implementing outreach plans for new partnerships.
  • Collect, analyze and present information on parliamentarian priorities and trends.
  • Coordinate administrative project implementation.
  • Organize meetings and events, workshops and training sessions.
  • Participate in conferences, meetings, and workshops.
  • Assist in building, documenting, and sharing best practices.
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of progress made against KPIs.
  • Support the Unit in compiling data and drafting reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including general administrative support.
Required Experience
  • Work experience in engaging and liaising with partners and donors, including the German national parliament (Bundestag) is required.
  • Work experience in a similar function and/or with national, regional or international public bodies is an asset.
  • Experience organizing events and meetings.
  • Work experience in fundraising is considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the German national parliament (Bundestag).
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Political or Social Science, Migration Studies, International Relations, Development Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution; or,
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, Migration Studies, International Relations, Development Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.

Languages Required
Fluency in English and German is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of any other official IOM language (Spanish, French) would be an advantage.
