Overview
The Digital Fundraising Specialist will contribute to shaping OCHA's approach to individual fundraising and corporate giving, supporting the private sector fundraising strategy to grow OCHA’s public supporter base and income streams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of digital fundraising marketing strategy, including developing fundraising campaigns and content for social media.
- Manage implementation of digital fundraising initiatives and development of strategic partnerships, boosting fundraising revenues and ROI.
- Champion strategic evolution of paid social advertising investments.
- Support OCHA’s Country Offices in mobilizing digital media during emergencies.
- Build and sustain engagement with individual donors through email marketing.
- Moderate digital channels, flag potential risks, and identify high performing content.
- Support preparation of analytics reports and document best practices and lessons learned.
- Perform other digital fundraising communication and content management duties as required.
Required Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years (with master’s degree) or seven (7) years (with bachelor’s degree) of progressively responsible experience in digital fundraising, social media, marketing, or related areas is required.
- A track record of delivering successful digital fundraising campaigns, including planning, delivery, optimization and reporting.
- Experience in handling data and reports, with solid numeracy skills and the ability to interpret and present information effectively.
- Experience in developing on-brand digital content that resonates with unfamiliar digital audiences.
- Experience in production of visual content for web platforms and designing original graphics is an asset.
- Professional work experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management (complex emergency or natural disaster), rehabilitation, development, or other related area is an asset.
- Previous experience supporting engagement and collaboration between the United Nations and the private sector is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Communication, Marketing, Journalism, International Relations or other related field of studies is required.
- Or a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the above-mentioned field of study, in combination with an additional two (2) years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
