Overview
This internship supports the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) initiative within the Department of Global Communications. The role assists with daily tasks related to UNAI's mandate of engaging higher education institutions with the United Nations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting internet research on thematic issues related to UNAI’s principles and mandate.
- Assisting with producing, drafting, formatting, editing, and posting original web site content.
- Assisting with producing social media content for LinkedIn account.
- Assisting with preparing the weekly UNAI Newsletter.
- Assisting with planning and organization of lectures and events.
- Assisting with maintaining UNAI databases.
- Providing general office support.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in journalism, communication, media studies, filmmaking, international relations or related field.
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
- Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
- Applicants should have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
