Overview
This internship supports the Justice and Corrections Service (JCS) with strategic communication and public outreach related to rule of law and justice and corrections in peacekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Justice and Corrections Service (JCS) with strategic communication and public outreach related to rule of law/security institutions/justice and corrections in peacekeeping;
- Assisting in developing and designing communications and multimedia products for web and social networking platforms;
- Assisting in developing content of JCS stories and information to increase awareness and understanding justice and corrections issues;
- Assisting with drafting and editing of JCS publications (e.g. fact sheets, brochures, newsletters and donor-related updates) for internal and external purposes;
- Conceptualizing and creating data visualizations and interactive content utilizing design and other software;
- Researching, compiling, and drafting information for use in the preparation and production of social media content;
- Monitoring and analyzing statistics related to social media content and web analytics-based platforms (Talkwalker, Twitter Analytics, Facebook Insights);
- Performing any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
- Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
