Overview
The internship involves supporting the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) New York Office in raising environmental awareness and promoting policy and practice change through various communication and outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate content ideas and social media strategies.
- Contribute to global campaign activities and advocacy initiatives.
- Assist in planning and coordinating meetings and events.
- Assist in producing graphics and multimedia content.
- Assist with media outreach.
- Monitor and update website and intranet.
- Assist in delivering information products.
- Research and prepare communications materials.
- Support outreach to partners.
- Attend and report on relevant meetings and events.
- Update and maintain contact database.
- Perform other communications-related duties.
- Support coordination activities within the New York Office.
- Support Office’s coordination tasks.
Required Experience
Relevant experience is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Master's degree programme in Environmental Sciences, Communications, or International Relations;
- Enrolled in the final academic year of a Bachelor's degree programme in Environmental Sciences, Communications, or International Relations; OR
- Have graduated with a university degree in Environmental Sciences, Communications, or International Relations.
