Overview

This internship position is located in the Division on International Trade and Commodities (DITC) within the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The role supports fundraising and partnerships work.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of the DITC fundraising strategy and related outreach activities.
  • Conduct research and analysis on donor priorities, funding trends, calls for proposals and partnership opportunities.
  • Monitor and screen potential donors.
  • Contribute to the preparation, drafting and review of concept notes, project proposals, donor briefs and partnership documents.
  • Support the preparation of fundraising pitches, presentations and talking points.
  • Assist in organizing meetings with existing and prospective donors and partners.
  • Prepare meeting summaries, briefing notes and follow-up actions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Division's fundraising tracker and donor database.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Undertakes on-the-job and other training activities.
Required Experience

No working experience is required for this internship.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Should be computer literate in standard software applications.
  • University degree must be in the area of communications, journalism, economics, development, law, political science or other social sciences deemed appropriate.
