Overview

The intern will support the implementation of the Centre's substantive work programme and communication strategies, shaping and delivering knowledge products to enhance recognition for APCTT's work.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and produce communication materials including event flyers, posters, factsheets, infographics and social media visuals using tools such as Canva and Adobe Suite;
  • Draft and edit content for APCTT's website, newsletter and social media channels (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram);
  • Produce short promotional video clips, event highlights and multimedia content;
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations and briefing documents for events and meetings;
  • Develop ideas to improve and make the technology database on the APCTT website more interactive and real-time;
  • Support the organisation of Hackathons, capacity-building events and conferences, including administrative and conference management tasks;
  • Support knowledge management functions of the organisation;
  • Assist in outreach and visibility activities related to regional forums and meetings;
  • Other activities as may be decided by the supervisor.
Required Experience
  • Have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Climate Change, Environment, Innovation, Sustainable Development, International Relations related to science and technology, or any other related area; or
  • Have graduated with a university degree as defined above and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation. The candidate is expected to have:
  • Good understanding of climate technologies, sustainable development and/or science & technology topics;
  • Experience in web-based research and digital content creation;
  • Excellent written communication and networking skills;
  • Proficiency in standard software applications (MS Office, Canva, AI tools) and familiarity with social media platforms.
Qualifications

Graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Climate Change, Environment, Innovation, Sustainable Development, International Relations related to science and technology, or any other related area; or a university degree as defined above.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
3 months (minimum three months, extendable up to six months subject to APCTT requirements)

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
