Overview
The Counsel Institutional Affairs will assist in providing legal services to INTERPOL's departments, governing bodies, and Member Countries on institutional, policy, and administrative matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides legal services on public international law, including advising on governing body matters, drafting legal opinions, and supporting agreement negotiation.
- Handles legal files autonomously, drafts legal documents, and maintains contact with INTERPOL members and external partners.
- Assists in preparing for INTERPOL meetings, drafts meeting minutes, and services task forces and expert groups.
- Checks the quality and accuracy of documents produced.
Required Experience
At least five years of working experience as a lawyer in the field of international law with specialization in the law of international organizations (interpretation of constituent instruments and secondary legislation, privileges and immunities, international civil service law).
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in law with emphasis in the area of public international law.
