Overview
The Clerk Radio Operator is responsible for receiving, transmitting, and relaying security and safety messages and information, monitoring field mission movements, and providing immediate support to personnel involved in security or safety incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Receives, transmits, or relays security and safety messages and information.
- Monitors field mission movements.
- Facilitates immediate support to UNSMS personnel and NGOs involved in security or safety incidents.
- Records all information and communications related to incidents.
- Monitors the use of the SCS and ensures it is used according to established SOPs.
- Verifies the operational status of security communication systems.
- Performs personnel counts as instructed.
- Maintains contact details and residence information for UNSMS personnel and their dependents.
- Updates lists of UN guards.
- Maintains contact details for emergency and support services.
- Directs personnel to the nearest during security or safety incidents.
- Prepares and submits reports as directed.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience within the UNDSS SOC.
- At least 3 years of experience in operating and repairing the SOC communication system.
Qualifications
- Diplôme d'Etude secondaires is required.
- A university degree (Licence) in telecommunication, computer science, electricity, electronics, or any other similar field will be duly considered but is not a requirement.
