Overview

The Project Analyst will support the implementation of project activities related to climate-resilient flood risk management, focusing on safeguarding, quality control, and monitoring.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide inputs to implementation of project’s activities, including drafting workplans, developing terms of references, and overseeing SESP/ESMP implementation.
  • Support effective implementation of environmental and social risk assessment and management measures.
  • Support preparation and review of site-specific environmental and social instruments.
  • Ensure integration of environmental and social requirements into procurement processes.
  • Identify training needs and support the organization and delivery of trainings and workshops.
  • Liaise with relevant ministries, research institutes, NGOs, and other institutions.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, including consultations and disclosure of relevant documentation.
  • Provide inputs to the Project Manager on project activities related to safeguarding, quality control, from formulation to implementation.
  • Take part in development of technical and non-technical guidance documents.
  • Support definition and implementation of social and environmental risk management measures.
  • Support additional environmental and social screening/rescreening of project activities.
  • Identify potential operational, financial, and environmental risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards, national regulations, and donor guidelines.
  • Conduct regular risk analysis to anticipate and address project implementation challenges.
  • Support field-based monitoring and supervision to verify compliance with environmental and social standards.
  • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of environmental and social compliance measures.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on overall project deliverables, including preparing progress reports and tracking project indicators.
  • Summarize and synthesize project results, providing regular updates to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor environmental and social performance, identifying gaps, risks, or non-compliance issues and recommending corrective actions.
  • Conduct financial and substantive monitoring of project activities.
  • Ensure timely reporting of any incidents, accidents, or grievances related to environmental and social compliance.
  • Support establishment and functioning of grievance redress mechanisms.
  • Prepare inputs for reporting on environmental and social safeguards to donors and Project Board.
  • Monitor project implementation, ensuring risk assessment and timely adjustments.
  • Support the organization and implementation of external evaluations and contribute to the assessment of the project's impact.
  • Facilitate knowledge management and gender equality, including coordinating dissemination and visibility of project achievements.
  • Coordinate dissemination of information and knowledge management within the team.
  • Coordinate the transfer of projects deliverables, documents, files, equipment, and materials to national beneficiaries.
  • Ensure gender is effectively mainstreamed throughout the project activities, work plans, budgets, reports, researches, analyses and, where specifically relevant, analyzed in detail.
  • Ensure knowledge on gender equality is incorporated in Project knowledge management activities and products.
Required Experience
  • Applicants with a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study are not required to have professional work experience.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in project implementation at the national or international level.
Qualifications
  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Water Resource Engineering or related studies is required.
  • A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in combination with additional two years of experience will be given due consideration in lieu of advanced university degree.
