Overview
Consultancy to conduct a rapid market assessment for girls’ skills development and economic empowerment in Katsina State, providing evidence-based recommendations to align training interventions with labour market demand and address barriers to girls' participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify priority sectors and livelihood pathways accessible, safe, and socially acceptable for adolescent girls
- Align Skills4Girls training interventions with local labour market demand
- Address structural and gender-based barriers to girls’ participation in education, training, and employment
- Inform the design of context-sensitive and scalable interventions that strengthen employability, entrepreneurship, and financial inclusion
Required Experience
- Minimum eight years of experience in economics, labour market research, skills development, or girls’ and women’s economic empowerment programming
- Demonstrated experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research
- Experience working on adolescent and youth-related programming
- Strong expertise in gender and social inclusion analysis
- Knowledge of Nigeria’s labour market, education and skills development systems, and policy environment
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills
- Experience working with UN agencies or development partners
- Ability to engage with government stakeholders
Qualifications
An advanced university degree in economics, statistics, education, gender and development, or other fields.
