Overview
The Birth Registration Officer will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of programme interventions related to birth registration in Mwanza, United Republic of Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning of programme interventions in Mwanza.
- Provide technical support for the rollout of eCRVS, digitization of registers, and archiving of paper records.
- Liaise with RITA, NIDA, and local government officials to ensure birth certificates and Jamii numbers for children.
- Support RITA, NIDA, and LGAs in developing monitoring and evaluation tools.
- Visit districts to monitor implementation of registration strategies and school connectivity.
- Represent UNICEF to local government officials.
- Draft reports, blog posts, and other knowledge products.
Required Experience
- A minimum of seven years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: social development planning and management, child protection, birth registration, and education programming.
- Relevant experience in programme development in child protection-related areas in a UN agency is considered an asset.
- Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is an added advantage.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in International development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another relevant social science fields.
