Overview
Provide technical assistance and capacity development to project/programme partners on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG). Support the monitoring and reporting of the programme/project and contribute to inter-agency coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and provide technical assistance and capacity development to project/programme partners.
- Provide technical support to country office in developing and strengthening projects/programmes on EVAWG.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of technical tools, and initiatives that contribute to the realization of EVAW Biennial Work Plan.
- Support relationships with national partners to support implementation and expansion of the EVAWG programme.
- Provide technical input on any potential emerging needs.
- Identify capacity building needs of partners and lead the coordination of technical assistance, mentoring, training and capacity development initiatives to partners.
- Support the monitoring of programme/ project implementation and finances using results-based management tools.
- Conduct field missions, spot checks and review reports on monitoring missions.
- Substantively contribute to drafting of internal and external reports.
- Support the development and implementation of partnerships and resource mobilization strategies.
- Conduct donor research and analysis, identify potential funding opportunities and areas for collaboration.
- Provide technical support to the Programme Team Leader on inter-agency coordination.
- Coordinate with UN agencies, government institutions, donors, and NGOs.
- Provide administrative, operational, and logistical support for the design, implementation, and management of EVAW programmes.
- Support implementing partners in the timely execution, financial management, and reporting of programme activities.
- Facilitate LPAC processes.
- Support programme accountability and knowledge management.
- Support advocacy and visibility activities.
- Provide administrative support to the financial management of the EVAW Programme Unit.
- Create projects in Quantum, prepare budget revisions, revise project awards and status.
- Provide administrative support in monitoring and preparation of budget and the finances of Programmes / projects.
- Prepare non-PO vouchers for development projects.
- Process payment for consultants, as delegated.
- Create requisitions in Quantum and in PRISM for development projects.
- Undertake all logistical, administrative and financial arrangements for organization for meetings, workshops, events, and missions.
- Make travel arrangements for the unit Team.
- Draft minutes in meetings, as delegated.
- Assemble briefing materials and prepare power-point and other presentations.
- Support track donor reporting deadlines, BWP, procurement plans, mid-term and annual reviews.
- Provide administrative support in organizing of training for the office staff and partners.
Required Experience
- At least 6 years of progressively responsible work experience at the national or international level in design, planning, implementation, monitoring, results-based reporting and evaluation of development projects.
- Technical experience in Ending Violence Against Women and Girls.
- At least progressively responsible experience in administrative or programme management/support.
- Experience in working in a computer environment using multiple office software packages.
- Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is an asset.
- Experience working in the UN System is an asset.
- Experience in the use of Quantum (and now PRISM) is an asset.
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary education required.
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field is an asset.
- A project/programme management certification would be an added advantage.
