Overview
The Driver's main duty is to ensure safe transportation of NRC personnel and cargo to the requested points of destination.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe transportation of NRC personnel and cargo.
- Strictly follow traffic rules and speed limits.
- Drive in a safe, considerate and protective manner.
- Fill in accident report form in case of an accident.
- Responsible for cleaning and daily maintenance of the vehicle.
- Ensure the vehicle is in a safe running condition.
- Check oil level, water level, battery, brakes, tyres.
- Ensure vehicle is equipped with a first aid kit, spare tyre, and tools.
- Report missing tools in writing.
- Perform minor repairs.
- Report major repairs to Logistics Assistant or Logistics Officer.
- Fill the logbook for all trips.
- Ensure other drivers fill the logbook.
- Ensure vehicle tanks are filled completely or at least 75% when fuelling.
- Ensure required licenses, insurance cards, and vehicle permits are valid and available.
- Ensure own driving licence and relevant papers are up to date.
- Follow instructions in the Checklist from the NRC Drivers’ Manual.
- Fulfill other tasks assigned by the Immediate Supervisor.
Required Experience
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Experience from working as a driver in a humanitarian/recovery context.
