The Associate Programme Officer will provide information, analysis, and policy advice on rule of law and human rights issues to senior leadership. The role involves supporting the implementation of the Secretary-General's agenda and contributing to policy development.
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience working on rule of law and human rights-related programmes is required. Experience directly supporting senior officials, including high-level coordination mechanisms, working with civil society, and clearing thematic reports is required. Experience with records management, including official declassification of confidential records is required. Experience working with the United Nations or another international organization, including substantive work on system-wide initiatives and policy development, is desirable.
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law is required. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
