Overview
Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of programmes on peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and inclusive governance, aligned with UNDP CPD 2024–2028 priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of programmes on peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and inclusive governance.
- Contribute to the integration of gender equality and Women, Peace and Security principles.
- Assist in strengthening youth engagement and civic participation.
- Provide technical and coordination support for stakeholder engagement.
- Support the development of analytical products, policy briefs, and knowledge products.
- Contribute to the integration of disaster risk reduction and climate resilience into programming.
- Assist in organizing workshops, consultations, and dialogues.
- Support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of programme activities.
- Contribute to resource mobilization efforts.
- Promote volunteerism and support UNV visibility initiatives.
Required Experience
- 3 years Donor priorities . Nationality Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment. Additional eligibility criteria This assignment is funded by the Government of Korea and therefore specific criteria apply:
- - Candidates must be Korean nationals.
- - Candidates must be 27 years of age at the time of application.
- - Candidates who have already served as UN Volunteer Specialist funded by the Government of Korea are not eligible to apply (former UN University and UN Youth Volunteers are eligible).
- - Serving UN Volunteers will not be considered for other UN Volunteer assignments until they reach three (3) months before the end of contract date of their current UN Volunteer assignment.
- - Candidates may apply to a maximum of three assignments and indicate the order of preference in the ‘Additional remarks’ field when filling in the application form.
- - Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
- - The selection will be done by the UN Host Entity at the level of the country of assignment.
- Experience in: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention, Democratic governance and political participation, Gender equality and Women, Peace and Security (WPS), Youth engagement and civic participation, Programme/project management in development contexts, Stakeholder coordination and partnerships. Experience in Africa or similar contexts is an asset.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Public Policy, Governance, Peace and Conflict Studies, Development Studies, Public Administration, Gender Studies, or related disciplines.
