Overview
The Information Management Officer is responsible for supporting the design, development, and implementation of information management systems in line with DRC’s MEAL strategy and programmatic needs. The role contributes to developing tools and platforms for data storage, analysis, and dissemination.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the IM Specialist in the design and implementation of a country-specific Information Management system.
- Create computerized tools allowing faster M&E tracking and reporting.
- Improve database management at DRC Sudan using online and offline databases.
- Ensure consistency and inter-operability between different datasets and sources.
- Contribute to the IM plan for new projects.
- Ensure data collected is well-organized and easily usable.
- Adapt the IM system(s) based on emerging needs.
- Code and thoroughly test assessment tools for MEAL and Program teams into Kobo, or other platform.
- Provide technical input for tool design in Kobo, or other platform.
- Upload all forms for data collection to the Kobo, or platform server.
- Review translations of data collection forms.
- Download data from the Kobo, or platform server, do data cleaning, and share the final data set.
- Ensure that knowledge and evidence are effectively gathered documented and disseminated.
- Keep informed about Knowledge Management tools, trends and methods.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of web-based and local knowledge sharing platforms.
- Promote knowledge sharing through operational processes.
- Maintain effective research of key platforms and other sources of information.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support to staff as necessary.
- Provide trainings on the IM system(s) to DRC staff.
- Build the capacity of program teams in terms of responsible data collection, entry, analysis, report writing.
- Represent Danish Refugee Council in cluster meetings or authority meetings related to MEAL/IM.
- Represent the organization towards communities.
- Information sharing, experience sharing with other NGOs working in the area on IM/MEAL aspects of programming.
Required Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in information management. Experience with facilitating and leading internal organisational processes. Long-term experience in the development of and visualization of solutions data sets.

Degree/Bachelor of Science in information management
