Overview

The Finance Assistant will provide procedural and technical support in finance and budget areas to ensure compliance with WFP financial policies, rules, and regulations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing procedural and technical support in finance and budget.
  • Monitor monthly expenditure forecasts and provide expenditure reports.
  • Monitor bank and petty cash accounts and forecast expenditures.
  • Verify vendor claims, advances, and other receivables.
  • Assist in compiling information for financial reports.
  • Retrieve, format, and validate information from financial systems.
  • Monitor and record all expenses in line with the approved budget.
  • Prepare bank transfer sheets and currency conversion requests.
  • Prepare invoices and receipts to customers.
  • Maintain file register in Teams.
  • Act as petty cash cashier.
  • Contribute to financial market analysis.
  • Contribute to capacity development of cooperating partners in financial management.
  • Perform on-desk and on-site financial spot-checks.
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job training to other support staff.
