Overview

This internship position is within the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, eTrade Initiatives Section, focusing on inclusive digital economies and female digital entrepreneurship. The role aims to assist the Section in analysis and organization of related technical assistance projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning and organization of capacity-building initiatives for women digital entrepreneurs from the Global South, including stakeholder communication and background documentation preparation.
  • Draft inputs for analytical studies, policy briefs, and presentations on women and digital entrepreneurship.
  • Assist with the organization of a Workshop on Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in E-commerce and Digital Businesses.
  • Provide substantive support for the preparation of relevant documents such as presentations and project documents.
  • Assist with proofreading, editing, and translating documents and reports for various stakeholders.
  • Assist in the organization and servicing of briefings and meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of communication-related materials for planned activities.
  • Assist in communicating with workshop participants and relevant Chinese stakeholders.
  • Support other activities of the Section as required.
Required Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Interns should be computer literate in standard software applications, have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter, and have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

Fluency spoken and written in English and Chinese is required.

Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage

Remuneration
The Internship Programme is unpaid. All costs of travel, accommodation, medical insurance and living expenses must be covered by the intern.
