Overview

The Team Assistant (Hindi Project) position supports the expansion of multilingual communications and outreach to Hindi-speaking audiences within the Department of Global Communications.


Key Responsibilities
  • Performs office support and administrative functions for communication activities under the Hindi Language Project.
  • Responds to routine correspondence and drafts responses.
  • Monitors processes and schedules related to unit outputs.
  • Researches, compiles, and organizes background information for Hindi-speaking audiences.
  • Proofreads documents and edits communication materials for accuracy and adherence to editorial standards.
  • Provides secretarial, administrative, and logistics support for meetings and events related to the Hindi Language Project.
  • Assists in website maintenance by posting documents.
  • Assists in the preparation and basic language adaptation of communication materials.
  • Maintains calendars/schedules and monitors changes.
  • Performs data entry and extraction.
  • Reviews, records, distributes, and processes mail.
  • Updates and maintains communication databases, editorial calendars, and mailing lists.
  • Performs general administrative tasks, including preparing and processing administrative requests.
  • Maintains files and databases for the Hindi Language Project.
  • Assists in providing software and office equipment support.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced staff on office processes.
  • Assists in monitoring media coverage and social media channels.
  • Assists with updating communication materials, including web pages and brochures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in communications is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to one (1) year for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in social media digital content support and social media content support is desirable. Experience in media monitoring or research is desirable. Experience in supporting communications campaigns or outreach initiatives is desirable. Experience working in the United Nations Common System or in similar large organizations is desirable.
