- Conduct economic and policy analysis to improve smallholder productivity, sustainability, and resilience.
- Support programme design, implementation, and evaluation through cost-benefit and impact assessments.
- Promote climate-resilient and sustainable farming practices for smallholder producers and aggregators including special attention to women farmers and engaging of persons with disability.
- Facilitate integration of nutrition and disaster risk reduction into food systems programming.
