Overview
The Chief Strategy Officer will advance the Department of Data, Insight and Policy's objectives by expanding resource mobilization, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing strategic coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and oversee the delivery of an integrated advisory support model.
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive continental initiatives for data upscaling.
- Lead the development of the next generation Migration Data Strategy and contribute to IOM’s AI Strategy.
- Lead the design and implementation of continental data platforms.
- Lead the coordination of IOM Data for Solutions roadmap implementation.
- Explore, advise, and implement new data initiatives.
- Represent the organization at international and regional meetings.
- Develop, advise, and lead a comprehensive resource mobilization and engagement strategy.
- Lead and deliver regular briefings on DDIP initiatives.
- Establish and expand DDIP network capacity in Global and Regional Offices.
- Ensure maximum exposure and visibility of DDIP global outputs.
- Provide strategic guidance on DDIP resource mobilization efforts.
- Serve as IOM’s senior technical representative in inter-agency efforts related to data and AI.
- Coordinate high-quality technical inputs for system-wide efforts.
- Represent IOM as a technical expert in global data and AI governance initiatives.
- Broaden strategic engagement with data and AI teams from government counterparts.
- Advise on and facilitate strategic engagement with key university partners.
- Advise, liaise, and engage with key technology partners from the private sector.
- Ensure close working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Develop and lead cross-divisional initiatives within DDIP to promote a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
- Perform any other duties required to meet DDIP and organization-wide mandates.
Required Experience
- Extensive experience coordinating global teams working with senior management, regional and country stakeholders, and data science, data analytics, information management, or related area to deliver actionable data.
- Extensive experience in setting up, implementing, and managing data operations, including in large-scale emergency response and crisis context, at country, regional, and global levels.
- Extensive experience in mobilizing large scale resources and funding for data activities at country, regional, and global levels.
- Extensive experience in development of large-scale integrated data and information system.
- Extensive experience in applying technological innovations into large scale deployment of data and information system and tools.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in a field related to Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or other relevant field from an accredited academic institution with ten years of relevant professional experience; or, University degree in the above fields with twelve years of relevant professional experience.
