Overview

The intern will support the Natural Resources Management, Climate Change, and Disaster Risk Reduction Unit in UNDP Lao PDR, focusing on the "Strengthening Disaster Response through the Establishment of Evacuation Shelter" project and other disaster-related initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Technical review and monitoring of ES project, including construction quality, progress reports, and spot checks.
  • Drafting Operation and Maintenance Plans and preparing internal communication materials.
  • Assisting with other projects as required.
  • Supporting the implementation of the communication plan for the Evacuation Shelter Project.
  • Developing communication materials such as brochures, infographics, videos, and presentations.
  • Drafting content for press releases, social media posts, and newsletters.
  • Supporting coordination with stakeholders to collect success stories and visual materials.
  • Developing visually appealing content using graphic design tools and providing technical support for multimedia production.
Required Experience

Prior experience in architectural design is desirable. Experience in digital systems, content creation, or event organization is an asset.

Qualifications

Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in engineering, Architecture, International Relations, International Development Studies, or closely related field.

Languages Required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is required.
Languages Preferred
Experience with web-based management systems, engineering systems, and graphic design software such as Canva and Adobe is an advantage. Fluency in English, and knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage. Familiarity with environmental issues, particularly disaster risk reduction, is an advantage.

Remuneration
UNDP internships are not remunerated. All expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern or her/his sponsoring entity.
