Overview

The Nutritionist NOA will serve as an activity manager for WFP's nutrition portfolio, ensuring nutrition integration across all operations. This role involves supporting coordination with government stakeholders, contributing to programme design, and strengthening collaboration on nutrition.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support coordination with government stakeholders and partners on nutrition plans and interventions.
  • Assist in conducting context-specific analyses and assessments to inform programme design.
  • Support engagement with government entities, development partners, NGOs, and private sector actors on nutrition.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Social and Behavior Change (SBC) activities.
  • Provide specialized expertise for SBC strategy development.
  • Support generation and utilization of behavioural research data.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with contractors.
  • Provide specialized SBC support to field offices and supporting units.
  • Foster external relationships and partnership-building with local partners.
  • Strengthen the capacity of WFP colleagues, cooperating partners, and government on SBC.
  • Attend meetings with UN and other multilateral bodies and NGOs.
  • Engage with GHQ and other country office teams on SBC activities.
  • Document learning from SBC programme implementation.
  • Provide support to activities related to large-scale food fortification (LSFF).
  • Contribute to the development of nutrition projects, activities, and plans.
  • Provide project management support to defined nutrition activities.
  • Support the integration of nutrition into programme activities.
  • Assist in monitoring programme implementation.
  • Compile and analyse data for reporting on programme performance.
  • Support monitoring of ongoing activities.
  • Contribute to maintaining programme documentation, records, and reporting systems.
  • Provide inputs to concept notes, proposals, and donor reporting.
  • Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners, and government counterparts on nutrition approaches.
  • Assist in the development and adaptation of tools, guidelines, and training materials.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to support staff.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing by documenting lessons learned and best practices.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to support coordinated implementation of nutrition activities.
  • Support the organization of meetings, workshops, and coordination platforms.
  • Assist in ensuring cross-cutting priorities are considered in programme activities.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
  • Contribute to ensuring proper filing and information management systems are maintained.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Support resource mobilization efforts.
  • Any other duties as required.
Required Experience

At least 1 year of professional work experience in public health/ food security/ nutrition related activities; Experience and exposure to implementation of national/international development programmes, with some understanding of emergency contexts; Experience identifying and defining nutrition issues/problems within a country and integration of nutrition across systems and programmes; Worked within large teams with varied areas of expertise in the delivery of nutrition projects; Has provided substantial input into functional practices and policies, preferably in the areas of nutrition, public health and/or social protection; Collaborated with a diverse array of humanitarian actors, including governments, NGOs, UN agencies, civil society, etc.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in public health, nutrition, food technology, food sciences, medicine or other relevant field, or first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience.
