Overview

The Senior Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable transport of personnel, executives, and partners, as well as maintaining assigned vehicles and adhering to strict safety standards and WFP procedures.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe and reliable transport of the CERFAM Director, senior WFP officials, UN officials, and institutional partners.
  • Welcome official mission personnel and visitors at the airport or other entry points, and facilitate immigration and customs formalities if necessary.
  • Support personnel deployment during official missions, including intercity travel.
  • Perform administrative errands for the office: distribution of mail, newsletters, publications, and other official documents.
  • Ensure daily cleanliness, mechanical condition, and operational readiness of the assigned vehicle.
  • Maintain a logbook of official travel, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, lubrication, and other interventions.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and complete all required documentation.
  • Perform minor repairs in a timely manner and coordinate major repairs with the fleet management team.
  • Immediately report any malfunction or technical problem to the fleet manager.
  • Strictly adhere to the vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Verify that all travel authorizations are on board and that mandatory safety equipment is present and in good condition.
  • Record each fuel supply via the FleetWave Driver App and submit supporting documents to the fleet manager.
  • Provide the Management Services unit with the necessary data for overhead cost reporting.
  • Strictly comply with current rules and regulations regarding field travel, including UN security provisions.
  • Immediately report any incident or accident to the supervisor.
  • Know and apply emergency procedures and first aid.
  • Exercise absolute discretion and respect the confidentiality of information.
  • Provide occasional support to the CERFAM administrative team as needed.
  • Monitor toll cards and manage corresponding toll fees, if required.
  • Perform various administrative tasks (filing, photocopying, archiving) for the Management Services team when requested.
Required Experience

At least three (3) years of experience as a vehicle driver, preferably within an embassy, a UN agency, or another international organization, with a good driving record. Experience driving various makes and models of vehicles, including vans and other types of motorized vehicles (all categories of licenses). Longer experience and experience in defensive driving are assets.

Qualifications

Secondary school diploma (BEPC or equivalent). Valid driver's license authorizing the use of the assigned vehicle in compliance with local regulations.
