Overview
The Senior Supply Chain Associate is responsible for managing end-to-end Supply Chain Management (SCM) activities, including procurement and logistics, to support the Supply Chain Officer and ensure timely and compliant processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement actions for assigned projects, including review and prioritization of purchasing requests and preparation of tender documents.
- Compile and review procurement data, and follow up on purchase orders.
- Support the processing of complex and higher-value purchases.
- Develop project-based procurement plans.
- Participate in negotiations of terms and conditions of purchases and resolve delivery issues.
- Provide technical guidance to staff on procurement procedures.
- Liaise with other Procurement Units to monitor contract renewals and vendor performance.
- Identify and evaluate local and international suppliers and service providers.
- Maintain internal databases and files on contractual agreements.
- Coordinate the maintenance of files and preparation of reports and statistics.
- Provide specialized support in property and asset management, warehousing, insurance, maintenance, and transportation.
- Coordinate supply chain operations with other UN Agencies, partners, and government authorities.
- Provide training and guidance to junior SCM staff and monitor their performance.
- Participate in UN inter-agency meetings and forums related to SCM.
Required Experience
- Four years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, or six years of relevant professional experience with a High School diploma.
- Professional experience in procurement, administrative services or related area is required.
- Experience working with an ERP system in the area of purchasing and/or supply chain is desirable.
- Proficiency in Data Analysis and Reporting.
- Experience working with IOM/UN Procurement and Logistics Rules and Procedures is an advantage.
- Experience working in an international organisation in a multi-cultural setting an advantage.
- Experience in training and coordinating teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or
- High School diploma.
- Professional certification by an internationally recognized procurement certification authority such as CIPS (level 2 certificate or equivalent), an advantage.
