Overview

To ensure the delivery of quality Emergency Food Security and Livelihoods (EFSL) intervention at the location of intervention in line with Oxfam and internationally accepted humanitarian standards. Responsible for overall coordination, management and implementation of food security and livelihoods activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out effective mobilization & sensitization of community & other key stakeholders on project implementation strategies.
  • Direct line management of SSHF Emergency Response and EFSVL team.
  • Act as Oxfam representative to stakeholders for all matters concerning SSHF response project.
  • Contribute to a clear strategy for the emergency food security and livelihoods programming.
  • Ensure all project activities are conducted in accordance with agreed work-plan and proposal.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Leads coordination of field level inputs for donor reports or needs assessment related to FSL sectors.
  • Ensure coordination of all activities at County-level with relevant Local Government leaders, INGOs and CBOs, and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure Emergency Livelihoods Response Project is designed to address specific needs of women, men, boys and girls by mainstreaming gender.
  • Provide regular orientation to team on promoting Oxfam gender modules and checklists.
  • Ensure teams work according to clear workplans, and work within a framework of clear objectives of FSL.
  • To lead food security assessments and surveys amongst emergency affected populations and advise on appropriate EFSVL programming.
  • Remain available to be deployed to support EFSVL activities in any Oxfam Area programme office.
  • Ensure support to help kick start the intervention through support in developing workplans and sharing the clear project deliverables with the team.
  • Establish a framework for documenting learning from the SSHF project including gender and protection main streaming.
  • Support in producing regular reports and contribute donor final report, 5W reporting.
  • Represent Oxfam GB at certain meetings involving local government and sector ministries.
  • Ensure adequate technical support to the food security/livelihoods and monitoring staff.
  • Support capacity building to staff hands on work to ensure that adhere to approved approaches and processes.
