Overview
Support the UN Women Mozambique Communications and Visibility team in implementing institutional communication activities, including audiovisual production, graphic design, and social media content preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design visual materials such as social media cards, banners, infographics and other branded communication products.
- Draft and adapt content for social media, including captions, tweets, short posts and text adaptations from regional or global materials.
- Assist with scheduling and uploading digital content, ensuring alignment with communication priorities.
- Provide event coverage, including photography, videography, collection of quotes, and quick-turnaround visual content.
- Support the development of communication materials, including briefs, success stories, human interest stories and inputs for newsletters.
- Assist in visibility and advocacy initiatives, including preparation of communication materials and basic logistical support for events.
- Contribute to knowledge and documentation efforts, such as organizing media files, supporting the drafting of event summaries and maintaining communication resources.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- Demonstrated academic or practical experience in public relations, communications, multimedia production or advocacy (through university projects, volunteer work, internships or freelance assignments).
- Hands on experience using social media platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn) for content creation, engagement or management — professional or academic.
- Basic experience in media relations is an asset, including assisting with press engagement, drafting short notes, or supporting event coverage (desirable but not mandatory).
- Experience or coursework in audiovisual production, including filming, photography, editing short videos and preparing visual content for digital platforms (strong advantage).
- Familiarity with digital tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, Adobe Premiere, Lightroom or similar editing/design applications.
- Previous internship, volunteer experience or student leadership roles related to communication, journalism, multimedia, social media or gender advocacy will be considered an advantage.
Qualifications
- University studies in one of the following disciplines: Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Digital Marketing or other relevant subjects is required.
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
- Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a two-year period of graduation; or
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program which is part of a degree programme and undertake the internship as part of the program requirements.
