Overview

The Project Associate will support the day-to-day implementation of project activities, drafting progress reports, and liaising with project partners and stakeholders. The role focuses on assisting the Project Manager in the environmentally sound management of earthquake debris and safe disposal of hazardous waste.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation of AWPs, annual budgets, and procurement plans.
  • Provide general administrative and logistic support for project activities.
  • Support budget expenditure control and non-expendable equipment usage.
  • Maintain contact with project experts and consultants.
  • Provide English translation as required.
  • Manage visa support, transportation, and accommodation for foreign experts.
  • Support project experts during site-based activities.
  • File and archive project-related documents.
  • Plan and organize implementation of project activities.
  • Coordinate implementation with project partners.
  • Organize Project Steering Committee meetings, project meetings, reviews, site visits, and events.
  • Monitor timetable and performance of contractors.
  • Propose corrective actions for project implementation issues.
  • Prepare inputs to APR and compile project reports.
  • Draft correspondence, notes, briefs, and other documentation.
  • Prepare inputs to procurement-related documents.
  • Assist in evaluation of bids and offers.
  • Assist in selection of project experts and consultants.
  • Prepare documents related to HACT framework.
  • Provide assistance in formulation of expectations, duties, and deliverables of experts and companies.
  • Support in reviewing and providing feedback on technical reports.
  • Assist in ensuring deliverables align with defined ToRs.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of 7 years (with high school diploma) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of progressively responsible administrative experience is required.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office, Windows-based applications.
  • Experience in the field of environmental or climate change or waste management projects.
  • Experience in project cycle management.
Qualifications

Secondary education is required, or Bachelor’s degree in business administration/economics, engineering, political/social sciences, city and regional planning, or related fields will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
