Overview

Internship within the Planning, Design and Construction Section of the Department of Operational Support, assisting with reviewing and updating gift inventory, cataloguing, and database records.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in reviewing gift inventory list and catalogue; provide updated digital information for the gift catalogue.
  • Assist in updating database changes to records in Excel/SharePoint and/ or paper records.
  • Assist in updating Gift database changes for locations and info with Excel in binders or electronic folders.
  • Update information research files and store in electronic folders.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
  • Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent); or
  • Have graduated with a university degree as defined above.
  • Computer literate in standard software applications such as MS Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel).
  • Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, including willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Other Details
Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
3 - 6 months
Work Modality
In person in New York or remote, full time or part time modalities would be considered.
Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
