Overview
Conduct technical studies and analyses related to granting and approving airworthiness certificates for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) aircraft and systems, ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical analyses and studies ensuring the safe integration of AAM technologies into the aviation ecosystem.
- Build technical capabilities in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) within GACA.
- Update existing regulations to incorporate AAM relevant systems & technologies.
- Develop regulations and procedures, prepare technical recommendations, and obtain the required approvals.
- Develop new regulations to enable airworthiness certification issuance.
- Define processes to conduct surveillance/oversight of testing and compliance.
- Conduct technical studies related to issuing and accepting airworthiness certificates for AAM aircraft and systems.
- Review and analyze engineering designs, safety data, and manufacturers’ risk-management solutions.
- Coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) and fleet operators to verify compliance with certification standards.
- Support and enable tests and flight trials for AAM systems.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by direct management related to the nature and scope of the job.
- Prepare reports on time and with the required quality.
- Commit to cybersecurity-related tasks and responsibilities.
Required Experience
Minimum 12 years of experience in the field. Experience with ICAO standards and recommended practices related to AAM or emerging aviation technologies is desirable.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
