Overview

The Project Management Specialist will support the Flood Recovery Programme Manager in the management, coordination, and implementation of a core programme component focused on flood recovery and rehabilitation efforts.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction in the design, planning, and implementation of programme interventions.
  • Lead the timely and high-quality delivery of programme activities.
  • Lead analytical review of planned interventions and ongoing progress.
  • Design and operationalize a robust M&E framework.
  • Identify, analyze, and manage operational, reputational, and strategic risks.
  • Support the efficient allocation and utilization of programme resources.
  • Collaborate in liaison and coordination with donors, government counterparts, and other strategic partners.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to project governance structures.
  • Oversee the preparation and timely submission of donor reports.
  • Cultivate a learning environment by identifying, analyzing, and sharing lessons learned and best practices.
  • Provide direct management and guidance to team members under supervision.
  • Lead capacity-building efforts for programme staff.
Required Experience

Minimum of 7 years (with master’s degree) or 9 years (with bachelor’s degree) of progressively responsible experience at the national or international level in project management, quality assurance, and management advisory services, with a proven track record of project implementation at managerial level. Experience in project oversight and quality assurance of projects/programmes with at least USD 200 million in annual delivery is required. Experience in the use of computers, office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.), and web-based management systems, and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages is required.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Development, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Social Sciences disciplines, or Management or related disciplines is required. Or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
