Overview
The World Bank Group is recruiting an Extended Term Consultant (ETC) to support the Programming and Innovation Unit with administrative functions for the Adaptation Fund's operations and Secretariat.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the project and programme review cycle process, preparation of meeting materials, Board documentation, and post-Board documentation.
- Track and ensure timely completion of reviews, log proposal-related information, and maintain accurate records.
- Draft routine correspondence, including letters, memos, emails, and responses to requests for technical information.
- Liaise with other teams to support capacity-building efforts, training, webinars, and knowledge products.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of meetings under the UNFCCC, other climate funds, and regional/bilateral forums.
- Support the Secretariat in preparing operational guidelines, tools, and documents.
- Assist with document and presentation preparation, including proofreading, editing, formatting, and layout.
- Provide broader operational and administrative support to the Secretariat.
Required Experience
- Two years of experience with a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience in managing business processes, including scheduling meetings, maintaining accurate filing systems, tracking project milestones, and supporting efficient workflow coordination.
- Demonstrated experience in managing effective relations with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the Adaptation Fund, UNFCCC, Paris Agreement, climate change, and other international environmental regimes, policies and funds.
- Experience in developing countries, working with those most vulnerable to climate change impacts would be highly desirable.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
