Overview

The Assistant will support the delivery of services and transactions in one or more of WHO's specialized operational areas, such as finance, human resources, procurement, and/or information technology management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of services and transactions in one or more specialized operational areas (human resources management, procurement, and/or information technology management).
  • Share information with clients, staff, and partners on procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain consistency in approach and adherence to procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Support the delivery of standard processes, transactions, services, and work products aligned with business plans.
  • Escalate areas for process and procedure improvement to the supervisor.
  • Support training in relevant business operations support areas.
  • Perform finance-support services including imprest accounts, payments, budget administration, financial monitoring, and income/awards administration.
  • Support human resources plan administration including contract management, staff recruitment, selection, onboarding, and briefing.
  • Procure goods/services including support for purchase requisitions, tender/bidding processes, and supplier management.
  • Provide information technology support services for daily operations, collaboration, and network infrastructure.
  • Provide support for logistics and transportation administration, including warehouses, office vehicles, and driver supervision.
  • Administer the inventory of supplies and organizational assets.
  • Administer travel, processing requests, visa issuances, flight and hotel bookings, and follow-up on travel-related issues.
Required Experience

A minimum of three years of work experience relevant to the position (administering support services and transactions in operational support areas, including finance, and/or human resources, and/or procurement, and information technology management support). Experience in administrative support positions within WHO or another United Nations agency. Experience in Oracle-based systems or another enterprise resource planning system.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary education. Training and certification in one or more UN operational service areas or systems.

Remuneration
annual net base salary starting at EUR 18,854 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
