Overview

Provide technical, coordination, monitoring, and reporting support to assigned GEF portfolio projects in the Pacific. Contribute to future GEF programming and resource mobilization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of GEF portfolio projects.
  • Assist in preparing and updating project work plans, procurement plans, and budget forecasts.
  • Monitor technical and financial delivery, identifying bottlenecks and risks.
  • Coordinate with project teams and counterparts for timely report submission.
  • Provide technical and coordination support on project cycle management and compliance.
  • Review operational and technical requests and provide preliminary analysis.
  • Contribute to the preparation and quality review of project reports and technical documents.
  • Support the organization of project meetings and consultations.
  • Conduct field missions for project monitoring and support.
  • Support monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities.
  • Assist in the preparation and follow-up of project evaluations.
  • Contribute to the development of technical inputs, communication materials, and knowledge products.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to affiliate personnel.
  • Provide technical coordination and portfolio-related supervision of country-based affiliate personnel.
  • Support LTOs in providing technical support to GEF portfolio projects.
  • Coordinate with SAP Programme and Operations teams on project-related matters.
  • Convene and support coordination meetings with national GEF Operational Focal Points.
  • Support the completion and submission of GEF project design documents.
  • Support the preparation of materials for GEF-9 resource mobilization.
  • Contribute to other project development initiatives.
  • Support resource mobilization and future GEF programming.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports.
  • Prepare an end-of-assignment report.
Required Experience

At least seven years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, implementation, monitoring, reporting and/or technical support for environment, climate change, natural resources management, biodiversity, forestry, land management, agriculture or sustainable development projects.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in environmental management, natural resources management, forestry, agriculture, climate change, biodiversity, sustainable development, project management, international development or another relevant field; Consultants with a bachelor's degree need two additional years of relevant professional experience.
