Overview

Consultancy to strengthen knowledge management, communication, and dissemination efforts through the development of high-quality institutional publications and visual communication materials.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review background materials, institutional guidelines, and visual identity standards.
  • Analyze communication objectives, target audiences, and technical content.
  • Develop and/or adapt graphic design concepts for publications and communication materials.
  • Define and apply editorial grids, typography, color palettes, and graphic standards.
  • Develop and/or adapt visual elements including illustrations, charts, and infographics.
  • Prepare proposed graphic design concepts and layout structures for review.
  • Incorporate comments, revisions, and adjustments.
  • Carry out editorial production and layout design of communication materials.
  • Organize and format textual and visual content.
  • Adapt charts, tables, infographics, and visual elements.
  • Coordinate with focal points during the revision process.
  • Support technical verification of formatting, visual consistency, and quality control.
  • Finalize editorial production and layout design.
  • Develop and/or adapt PowerPoint presentation bases.
  • Prepare final print-ready and digital dissemination files.
  • Support proof validation and file closure processes.
  • Provide graphic production support and technical coordination.
  • Deliver final versions of all materials.
Required Experience

At least three years of proven professional experience in graphic design, editorial production, visual communication, or related areas. Demonstrated experience in the design and layout of institutional publications, reports, policy briefs, or communication materials for international organizations, public institutions, NGOs, or development-related initiatives. Experience working with long-form publications and complex technical content is desirable. Familiarity with sustainability, green economy, climate, environmental policy, public policy, or international development themes is considered an asset. Previous experience working with UNEP, PAGE, UN agencies, or other international organizations is considered an asset.

Qualifications

Training or qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Editorial Design, Communication, Design, Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field is desirable. This may be evidenced by a university degree, technical/vocational certification, and/or a demonstrated body of professional work (portfolio) of equivalent standard.
