Overview
Provide reliable and secure driving services for IOM staff and visitors, and manage the day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide reliable and secure driving services to transport IOM staff members and visitors.
- Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle to ensure roadworthiness.
- Perform minor repairs and arrange for major repairs.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition.
- Make sure the vehicle always has a full tank prior to departure.
- Find the most direct routing over the best available roads.
- Meet official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities.
- Negotiate, liaise and coordinate with local authorities to facilitate vehicle movements.
- Ensure the IOM vehicle is used only for official/authorized business.
- Make sure the daily logbook is instantly updated after each movement.
- Ensure fuel receipts are provided to the Fleet Manager for consumption monitoring.
- Keep a high degree of confidentiality and discreteness.
- Take proper measurements to reduce potential security threats.
- Deliver and collect goods, mail, documents and other items.
- Take steps required by local rules and regulations in case of involvement in an accident.
- Identify any apparent problems during trips and report them.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- At least two years of relevant professional experience.
- Valid Driving License
- Adequate knowledge of local traffic laws and routes of the duty station
- Defensive driving techniques
- Previous experience in working with IOM or other international organizations in the field
Qualifications
Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution.
