Overview

Support energy transition initiatives across ADB's developing member countries through policy dialogue, sector reforms, and project implementation. The role involves engaging with governments and development partners to identify and develop opportunities for sustainable, low-carbon energy solutions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the operationalization of energy transition initiatives in hard to abate power and industrial sectors.
  • Provide technical inputs to energy sector workstreams, including policy dialogue and sector reforms.
  • Contribute to the development of energy sector policies, strategies, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Support the identification, preparation, processing, implementation, and administration of loans, grants, and technical assistance.
  • Engage with DMC governments, resident missions, and relevant ADB offices on technical and structural issues.
  • Coordinate with development partners and external stakeholders to build partnerships.
  • Represent the energy transition team in internal and external discussions.
  • Oversee and ensure the quality and compliance of project-related documents.
  • Support private sector participation and public-private partnership opportunities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support staff and consultants.
Required Experience

At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in energy and industrial policy, regulation and projects, in both the public and private sectors with international experience working in several countries, with a focus on south Asia, and central west Asia. Two years of relevant experience outside ADB within the past five years is required.

Qualifications

A University degree or equivalent in engineering, economics, finance or business administration, or related fields; preferably at post-graduate level or its equivalent.

Contract Duration
initially for a period of up to 3 years, or up to the Normal Retirement Date (NRD), whichever comes earlier. ADB may choose to renew the appointment for up to an additional 3 years.

Remuneration
All reasonable relocation expenses will be covered. The salary will be based on ADB's standards and comparator markets, taking into account your qualifications and experience.
