Overview
The National Operations Officer provides operational support to programmes and projects at the Subregional Office for Eastern Africa, ensuring smooth project operations and consistent service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as a focal point for daily project operations.
- Contributes to the preparation and assessment of new programme and project proposals for operational clearance.
- Plans and prepares project task force consultations and ensures secretarial support.
- Ensures timely provision of inputs for personnel, technical support, training, equipment, and other project needs.
- Participates in the preparation of project work plans, monitors progress, and identifies corrective measures.
- Manages project budgets and prepares revisions.
- Coordinates the timely preparation and submission of project progress and terminal reports.
- Coordinates actions for timely completion/closure of field projects.
- Ensures data quality in the Field Programme Management Information System.
- Provides guidance and advice to project staff on operations and administrative matters.
- Supports project proponents with Operational Partners Implementation Modality (OPIM) package preparation and approval.
- Assists project proponents with the signature and operationalization of Operational Partners Agreements (OPA).
- Provides support and guidance to Operational Partners (OP).
- Monitors OPA disbursements and OP delivery.
- Monitors and advises project teams on OPA follow-up actions.
- Reviews and monitors project budget expenditures and resources.
- Supports the preparation and delivery of training and learning events.
- Participates in regular regional meetings for knowledge sharing and coordination.
Required Experience
Three years of relevant experience in office management, administration, accounting and/or audit, budget or finance.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree in a field related to business or public administration.
