Overview

The intern will support the Staff Development Unit in organizational learning, staff capacity development, career growth, knowledge-sharing, and the implementation of United Nations learning and human resources priorities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the planning, preparation, coordination and logistical arrangements for training courses, workshops, seminars, webinars and other learning activities
  • Supporting the development, editing and formatting of training materials, reports and communications
  • Contributing to e-learning and blended-learning initiatives
  • Assisting with learning needs assessments and the evaluation of training activities
  • Conducting research on staff development trends and good practices
  • Supporting coordination with internal and external learning partners
  • Undertaking other related tasks under the supervision of the Head of the Staff Development Unit
Required Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualifications

Applicants must, at the time of their submission, be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme programme (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree); be enrolled in a graduate school programme (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or have completed an aforementioned academic degree, preferably in the area of human resources management, business or public administration, social sciences, education or a related field.

Fluency in English or French is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of the other working language (English or French) is an asset. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable (i.e. Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
